William S. Shea, Jr. Former Monroe Resident William S. Shea, Jr., 55 of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, formally a lifelong resident of Monroe, NY passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Billy was born in New York City on April 18, 1959, the son of the late Honorable William S. Shea and Lorraine Quinn Shea of Monroe. He graduated from John S. Burke Catholic High School and Niagara University. He worked on the Helmsley's family personal security team, and was also a New York City Marshal, and then Prudential Insurance Agent. Billy was an avid golfer, former member of the Monroe Country Club, and an enthusiastic Notre Dame fan. He was a true gentleman who touched the lives of so many family members and friends. His love of life, his smile and his kind words were an inspiration to all of us. Simple things brought him happiness, especially spending time with family and friends. A Family statement reads "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, loves leaves memory no one can steal. "From a Headstone in Ireland". He is survived by his treasured sister, Lorette Shea of Franklin Lakes, NJ, his brother and best friend Andrew Shea and his wife Eileen Shea, and their children Meaghan, Patrick, Christopher and Connor Shea all of Warwick, NY. His Aunt Joan Marron and Uncle Jimmy, his Aunt Loretta Sullivan and Uncle John of Babylon, NY and many adoring cousins, also survive him. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 and Tuesday, October 14, 2014 during the hours of 5:00 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart R.C. Church located at 26 Still Road, Monroe, New York 10950. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Columba R.C. Church Cemetery, Route 94, Chester, New York. The family has entrusted Thomas F. Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. with the care and supervision of the Funeral Services.
