William Raymond Sleight

William Raymond Sleight Campbell Hall, NY William R. Sleight of Campbell Hall, NY, a 40 year resident of the area, ended his battle with cancer on April 16, 2019 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He fought his battle against cancer with courage, dignity and determination. The son of the late James and Nora Sleight, he was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1947. William retired from Verizon after a 36 year career, which was then followed by 10 years as a bus driver for the Washingtonville Central School District. He proudly served in the United States Army, and was a Vietnam Veteran. William was a member of the IBEW Local 827, as well as The American Legion. William was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was an avid fan of the NY Rangers, NY Mets and the NY Giants. Survivors include his wife, Theresa S. Sleight of Campbell Hall, NY, and their children Shane W. Sleight and his wife, Gina of Goshen, NY, and Robin G. Sleight, and his significant other Missy Dembek, of Middletown, NY, his granddaughter Samantha Lynn Sleight, his nephews James, Craig and Jonathan, as well as his nieces Audra and Andrea. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his in-laws Joseph and Kitty Caltieri, his brothers Gerard J. and James L. Sleight, his nephew Brian L. Sleight, and his sister-in-law Frances C. Johnson. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019, during the hours 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. Interment will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM, with Military Honors, at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 111 Craigville Road in Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in William's name may be made to the Honor Flight Network.
