WILLIAM "BILL" EDWARD TRIESTE passed away on February 26, 2019. He was 85. Bill was born in 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Mary Trieste and was raised in the Bensonhurst section of the borough along with his brother John and sister Lorraine. Bill graduated from New Utrecth High School and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in advertising from Long Island University, Brooklyn. During this time Bill was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Thomas Dongan Council of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Bill spent his young adulthood working in advertising for firms such as Dancer Fitzgerald. He continued his career in management throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s with Great Lakes Carbon and the First National Bank of Chicago. As a young man, Bill helped organize the New York chapter of the Catholic Alumni Club. It was through this organization that Bill met his first wife Virginia, whom he married in 1965. Bill and Virginia had five children: Edward, Christopher, Amy, Matthew, and Michael. Virginia passed away in 1988. In 1992, Bill married his current wife Susan, they have two children, John and William. Bill was a life-long New Yorker. He frequently said the world begins and ends in New York City. Bill spent his career working in Manhattan and earned a Master of Business Administration from the City University of New York, Baruch College while supporting his young family. While working at Morgan Stanley, Bill survived the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center. He was a long-time resident of the Town of Monroe and parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monroe, New York. Bill was a dedicated husband and father, rarely missing his children's various school activities and athletic events. He loved to travel and spend time with his family. Bill is survived by his wife Susan Trieste; his siblings John A. Trieste of Melbourne, FL and Lorraine Corsini of Plainville, CT; his children Edward Trieste of Caldwell, NJ, Christopher Trieste and his wife Christine of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, Amy Hall and her husband Russell Hall of Solana Beach, CA, Matthew Trieste and his wife Kristy of New York, New York, Michael Trieste and his wife Jordan of Greenwood, IN, John J. Trieste, and William H. Trieste of Harriman, NY; his grandchildren Tyler Trieste, Ryan Trieste, Emily Trieste, Siena Hall, Noah Hall, Chase Hall, Megan Trieste, Catherine Trieste and Luke Trieste as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and brother. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019, during the hours of 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, in Sacred Heart R.C. Church located at 26 Still Road, Monroe, NY 10950 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Anastasia R.C. Church Cemetery located at 21 North Main Street, Harriman, NY 10926. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and United Hospice of Rockland.
