Thomas Quinn

March 13, 1964 — June 14, 2020

Thomas Quinn Bronx, NY March 13, 1964 - June 14, 2020 Thomas Quinn, born in Ireland and raised in the Bronx passed away at home on June 14, 2020. He was only 56 years old. Our hearts are broken and our sorrow is deep. Thomas was a laborer for Local 79. He was a hard worker and his co-workers said he was a bull that never stopped. Thomas grew up going to Orchard Beach, the Oval and Tibbit's pool all summer. He knew if he has a spalding and a broomstick, a hockey stick, or even just a belt, he and his friends would have something to do all day. Making go carts from the wheels of old shopping carts and wooden boxes from Olinsky's or the fruit stand was always a great time. No helmet, No brakes. He would sneak into the golf course with his cousin to collect the golf balls from the brush and sell them back to the golfers. Great way to get ice cream money. His siblings would put him in the dumbwaiter and pull him up as far as they could and let go of the rope… they would put him in the dryer, use the slugs from the washer man, and let it run until the door flung open! This explains a lot! God was with us then that's for sure. Thomas was at many a crossroad in his life and sometimes he chose the wrong turn. But his faith was strong and always pulled him through. He was always there for us and he knew we were always there for him. If you needed him for anything his response was always, "what time and have the coffee ready." He loved ice cream, a good meatball, and meatloaf! He was the bread and cannoli guy for every holiday and BBQ. He forgot the cannoli's one time, but only once because his nieces never let him forget it. Thomas loved and appreciated his parents and family. His son and granddaughters were his heart. He really and truly had a heart of gold. His contagious laugh and sense of humor will never be forgotten. We will love him always. Son, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend. Thomas your faith has taken you home. God has you now. Rest in peace. He leave behind his mother Gretta Stannard, his son Anthony and wife Kantlin, granddaughters Gemma and Aria, brother Patrick and wife Sheila, sister Margaret and husband Jim Doyle, sister Noeleen and husband George Cohn. As well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his step-father Charlie Stannard, his great-niece Raegan Quinn McCutchen, his step-mother Teresa Quinn, and his father Tommy Quinn.
