Scott S. Winkler a 30-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, and a resident of Monroe, NY and former longtime Sloatsburg, NY, resident, died tragically on December 10, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family, at Westchester Medical Center, Mount Pleasant, NY. Scott was 50 years of age. Scott was the Son of George, (and the late), Joan Winkler. He was born in Queens, New York on January 3, 1963. Scott was a very devoted family man, loyal friend of many, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Scott was a humble man who found great joy in surrounding himself with family and close friends. He will be greatly missed by many who are devastated by this tremendous loss. Scott's family would like to thank the entire medical staff at Westchester Medical Center ICU Trauma Unit, for their heroic efforts. Scott was the dedicated and loving husband to his wife Doreen. He was a devoted father to daughters Brittany, Tinamarie, and Angela, sons Jesse and Jonathan. Scott was the cherished brother of Raymond Winkler and Christine Buckley and the brother-in-law to Kenny (Buck) Buckley; James Pace; Jo-Ann & Tom Figurelli; Lucille & Dante Lividini. He was a loving uncle to Brendan, Katie, and Zariah (Little Rabbit). "Scottie" is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15th & Monday, December 16, 2013 during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 PM & 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, New York 10950. The family will be accepting family and friends immediately following the Funeral Mass, at the American Legion Post 488, located at 532 Lakes Road, Monroe, New York 10950. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to your local blood bank in Scott's honor. A blood drive in Scott's name is being planned in January.
