Ruth T. Jones

Ruth T. Jones, a long time resident of Harriman, New York died at home on Sunday, January 24, 2015. She was 81 years of age. The daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothea Petersen, Ruth was born in Teaneck, New Jersey in the year 1934. Ruth worked as a Machine Operator for Avon Products for a period of 20 years. She also worked for Novaris for a period of 10 years. And after her retirement, Ruth spent 8 years working as a Nurse's Aide at Mary Crest Convent. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Daniel Doug Jones as well as by her sisters, Irene Dixon; Jane Van Syckle and Karen Dunn. Ruth is survived by her children, Linda Jones Gleason of Newburgh, New York; Arthur D. Jones, Jr. of Newburgh, New York; Debbie Jones of Southfields, New York; Kathy Jones MacNamara of Harriman, New York and Thomas Jones and his wife, Maureen of Middletown, New York. Ruth is also survived by her two grand children, Kelly Gleason of Charlotte, North Carolina and Austin MacNamara of Harriman, New York as well as by her two great-grandchildren, Christopher Ruffino, Jr. of Southfields, New York and Mackenzie Berrios of Charlotte, North Carolina as well as by her twin sister, Barbara Zembriski of Mahwah, New Jersey; her brother, Dennis Petersen and his wife, Donna of Florida and by her many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 during the hours of 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church located at 26 Still Road, Monroe, New York 10950. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery 10 Fox Hill Road, Tuxedo Park, New York 10987. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions in Ruth's name be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties located at 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, New York 12550.
