Roberto Grisales Sierra

Roberto Grisales, a 13-year resident of Middletown, NY, died on December 21, 2024, at 96. Roberto worked as an iron welder for over 20 years. 

The son of the late Juan Pablo Grisales and Maria Teresa Sierra, he was born in Medellin, Colombia, on April 24, 1928. 

Our father, Roberto, was a gentleman, a loving and devoted father, and a caring husband. His seven daughters and seven grandchildren will remember him as one of a kind, an avid musician, and a skilled guitarist and vocalist. Always ready to joke and smile, he was an eternal romantic married to the love of his life, our mother, Marina, his one and only love for 58 years. He said goodbye on December 21, the day of their 72nd wedding anniversary. Our father will forever remain with us in our memories and our hearts. He showed us how to love and care for one another and how to thank god for each day. 

Roberto was predeceased by his wife, Marina Restrepo.

Roberto is survived by his seven daughters, Luz Marina Fortea, Rosalba Lorenzana, Piedad Lucia Moreno, all of Middletown, NY, and Lucila Betancur, Maria Elena Grisales de Gomez, Patricia Grisales, Margarita Maria Grisales, all of Medellin, Colombia. His grandchildren also survive him, Juan Carlos Gomez, Paula Andrea Camacho, Marisol Morley, Frances Fortea, Rey Fortea, Andres Betancur, and Mariana Betancur; his great grand-children, Josue Gomez, Samara Camacho, Anaiah Camacho, Julia Morley, James Morley, and Sofia Morley; his nieces and nephews, Sonia Rua, Beatriz Bustamente, Alberto Bustamente, Jaime Bustamente, and Guillermo Bustamente.

Visitation will be held at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950, on December 30, 2024, from 9 am to 12 pm. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Anasasia's Church, 21 North Main Street, Harriman, NY 10926, at 1 pm.

The family has entrusted Roberto's care to the Flynn Family and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center staff.
