Robert Allen Loitsch, age 79, of Newburgh, NY, passed away on June 2, 2024. He entered this world on June 9, 1944, in Bronx, NY, born to the late George Loitsch and Edith Loitsch, née Gairing.
In a distinguished career, Robert dedicated many years to New York Telephone and NYNEX, where he showcased his diligence and expertise, working his way from telephone installation to the specialized field of Cost Management & Analysis. Parallel to his professional endeavors, Robert served with pride and honor in the New York State National Guard.
Robert possessed a rich tape of personal interests, which reflected his multifaceted personality. With a discerning eye for detail, he engaged in photography, capturing the essence of moments that would otherwise slip by unnoticed. Model railroading provided not just a pastime but a canvas for his meticulous craftsmanship. His volunteer work at the Shore Line Trolley Museum was a testament to his dedication to the preservation of the history of electric railways, and his interest in Egyptology spoke to his everlasting curiosity about the world's wonders.
His departure will be deeply felt by his wife, Diane Loitsch, Patricia Timchek, his former wife and mother of his sons Steven Loitsch (Myra), Brian Loitsch; his sister, Cheryl Cardona (Eli) and two grandchildren, Samnatha Corazon Loitsch and Matthew Robert Loitsch. Together with his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him, Robert leaves behind a legacy of steadfast devotion and the quiet pride of a life well-lived.
A service commemorating Robert’s life will be lovingly held at the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, Connecticut, at a later date, where he gave many years of enthusiastic support.
