Robert F. Verneau a retired Construction Inspector for Con Edison for the past 40 years and a 46-year resident of Chester, NY died January 31, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill, NY. He was 76 years of age. The son of the late Louis and Catherine Verneau he was born in New York in the year 1941. Robert was a Veteran of the United States Army, he was also a member of St. Columba R.C. Church, the Monroe-Chester Sportsman Club and a union member of UWUA Local 1-2 in New York. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, and beloved grandfather who enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Frances, at home and their children Suzanne and her husband Dennis Daria of Mahopac, NY, Roger and his wife Danielle Verneau of Morris Plains, NJ and Danielle and her husband Brendan Moran of South Blooming Grove, NY. His three grandchildren Elizabeth Daria, Craig Daria and Brody Moran along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive him. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 during the hours of 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 3 Hudson Street, Chester, NY 10918. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM in St. Columba R.C. Church located at 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery located at 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924. Robert was a loving father who worked hard and whole heartily supported his children's education. The funds will be used as Scholarship money for student who exemplify Robert's hardworking nature and love of country and service.
