Richard John Serringer Kingston, NY formerly of Monroe, NY Richard J. Serringer of Kingston, NY a Master Craftsman for the past 32 years and a 12-year resident of Kingston, NY, died on January 23, 2017 in Rhinebeck, NY. He was 52 years of age. The son of Richard G. and Margaret M. Serringer he was born in New York in the year of 1964. Richie was unique in so many ways, such as being the most kind and loving person we have known, his confidence to always believe in himself, even when others did not. His gift was the way he made every single person feel special and never rending judgement of anyone. Richie was an advocate for raising money for AIDS awareness and research, he had organized events such as Benefit Art Auctions and participated in AIDS Life Cycle rides. The AIDS Life Cycle (ride to end AIDS) would begin in Niagara Falls, New York and ending in the Bowery Section of Manhattan He is survived by his parents of Monroe, NY and his best friend and spouse Jim Granger at home in Kingston, NY. Along with his sisters Margaret Curtin, Irene Cantu, Leah Murphy and her husband Richard. His brother Neal and partner Beth Gottlieb and several loving nieces and nephews also survive him. A Life Celebration is to be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 during the hours of 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Arthur Finnegan American Legion Post 1443 located at 40 Mountain Lakes Lane, Greenwood Lake, NY 10925.
