Rene Muniz Chester, New York Rene Muniz a longtime resident of Chester, New York died peacefully as his residence on February 13, 2014. He was 73 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents of Puerto Rico and his one sister, Paulie. He was the widower of Frances Doremus. Rene worked first for produce farmers then he worked for many years at Chester Cable Company, and finally he retired after working at Remey's in Florida, New York. Rene was a kind person with many friends and a likable personality, always willing to lend a hand. Survivors include his step-daughter Carol Jones and her husband Skip. Step grand-children Darren, Susan, Maggie Phillips and Jordan. He is also survived by Carol & Mark Sutherland and family, Tina & Steve Schueler and family along with his sisters Carmita and her husband and family in Florida, sisters Tita, Lucy, Julia, Elba, their husbands and families in Puerto Rico and brothers Alfonso and Angel and their wives and families in Puerto Rico. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 during the hours of 4 to 7 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 3 Hudson Street, Chester, New York 10918.
