Phillip C. Banks Chester, New York Phillip C. Banks passed away on May 17, 2014 with his family by his side in Middletown, New York. Phillip was born April 24, 1948 in Danville, Virginia to Brady Mae Fitzgerald and John Lovelace banks. He moved to New Rochelle, NY in 1960. Phillip graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1967 where he played on both the football and basketball teams. After graduation, he received a basketball scholarship and attended Hartford, University in Hartford, Connecticut. Phillip retired in 2007 from the Westchester County Department of Corrections where he worked for over thirty years; first as a Corrections Officer and lastly as a Sergeant. Phillip's pastimes included watching MSNBC, due to his interest in all things political, as well as voluntarily campaigning for President Obama. He loved music and all sports, especially basketball. Phillip's family and friends meant everything to him. Phillip is survived by his wife of over forty years, Yvonne E. Banks and daughter Stacy Y. Banks; sisters Flossie Banks, Tina Waller and Agnes Banks; sisters in law Denise Taylor (Winston) and Selina Gibson (Gary); Brothers in law Archie Walker and John James; great aunts Geraldine Fitzgerald and Rosa Mae Banks as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Memorial contributions in Phillip's name the American Stroke Association, P.O.
