Peter William Spinning

Peter William Spinning, Sr., a 35 year resident of Walden, New York died on July 2, 2014 at Castle Point VA Medical Center with his family by his side. He was 71 years of age. The son of the late Sally Connors Spinning, Peter was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 7, 1942. Peter was a 22 year, 3 tour retired Veteran of the United States Navy as well as a retired dairy farmer of 20 years. Peter was a proud member of the Orange County Farmer's Museum and of the Maybrook VFW in Maybrook, New York. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who adored his family and his antique tractors. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his son Peter Spinning, Jr. and wife Lisa of Montgomery, New York; his son Dale Spinning and wife Melissa of Salisbury Mills, New York and his daughter Dawn Scott and husband Michael of the town of Newburgh, New York. Peter is also survived by as his grandchildren, grandson Peter Spinning III and his fiancAC. Amanda Zwart; granddaughter Noel Spinning and granddaughter Breyalyn as well as his great grandson Ethan Spinning. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Nancy Spinning who died in December 2013, and by his granddaughter Desiree Spinning. There will be no public visitation. The cremation occurred under the direction of Thomas F. Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc. A private ceremony will be held at Orange County Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made in Peter's name to Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York 10924 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
