Patsy V. Gianzero, a retired Navy Veteran and longtime resident of Harriman, NY passed away on July 8, 2020 at Orange Regional Medical Center. Patsy was born on March, 29, 1932, in Yonkers, NY to the late Patsy Gianzero and Nicolina DiPaola. Patsy grew up in Yonkers and enlisted in the Navy in 1951. Patsy served in the Navy on two aircraft carriers: the U.S.S. Wasp (CV-18) and the U.S.S. Tarawa (CV-40). After honorably discharging from the service in 1955, Patsy worked as Teamster for local 456 until he retired in 1994. Following his retirement and relocation to Harriman, NY, Patsy worked for a local school district as a bus driver. Patsy is survived by the love of his life Genevieve, his sister Geraldine Sansone, and five children: Donna Fetky and Patricia Schweizer; Patsy J. Gianzero and his wife Karen; Genevieve Taylor and her husband Curt; Lisa Heffner and her husband Danny; eight grandchildren: Andrew Fetky, Mark Fetky, Paul Kaleita and his wife Danielle Kaleita, Marissa Totten (Kaleita) and her husband Will Totten, Alyssa Gianzero and her fianc Eric Buchanan, Daniel Heffner, Marlayna Heffner, Calina Padilla-Schweizer; and two great-grand-children Isabella Kaleita and Natalie Kaleita. Patsy was predeceased by his two beloved grandchildren Bobby and Danielle Schweizer and his brother Joseph Gianzero. Patsy will be remembered through his contagious smile, his big blue eyes, and his love and commitment to his family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, during the hours of 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. Burial will follow on Wednesday July 15, 2020 at St. Anastasia Cemetery, 21 N Main St, Harriman, NY 10926.
