Nancy Forrest Lange age 86 of Stony Point, NY, formally of Thiells,NY, Upper Saddle River, NJ and Naples, FL died peacefully on September 15th. She was born September 12, 1932 in Nyack, NY the daughter of late Albert E. Forrest and Jean Raymond Forrest. A graduate of Haverstraw High School in 1949, she went on to attend State University of NY at Canton where she met her husband, Carl. They married on October 22, 1950 and she happily became a wife and mother. After an 18 year hiatus in her formal education, Nancy graduated from William Patterson University in 1973 with a BA in Education and began a challenging and fulfilling career as a Middle School and High School teacher for English and Social Studies in Paramus, NJ. She belonged to the NEA and the NJ Education Association. Nancy was an active in the Methodist Church all of her life. She held many positions in different churches. In 2014 she returned to the Thiells church of her childhood. She love to travel and with Carl traveled this beautiful country by car, pop-up camper and RV going to all 49 states and eight Canadian provinces. Nancy and Carl flew to our 50th state, Hawaii on their 50th anniversary in 2000. Nancy loved to volunteer. She was a mentor with Champions for Learning formally known as Take Stock in Children. At NCH she and a friend were clowns who visited the sick. Through the East Naples United Methodist Church she served as a Stephen Minister. She also volunteered in the abused women's shelter. She was blessed with a loving extended family and friends who walked life's journey with her and her faith sustained her all her life. Her testimony was that she knew where she was going and who she would see there. Nancy was proceeded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Carl on January 30, 2010 and will be interred with him in Airmont Cemetery. Nancy is survived by her loving children, Susan J. Lange of Stony Point and John F. Lange of Gallipolis, OH, her loving grandchildren Audrey Lange Heeren (Eric), Gina Lanzano (Liz) and Frankie Lanzano, and two great-grandchildren Carly Marie Heeren and Haylee Jean Heeren. As well, she is survived by her brother Jack Anderson, her sister Sally Mann (Greg) and sister-in-law Evelyn Franks (Norman), sister-in-law Judy Forrest and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her brother John S. Forrest. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Thiells Garneville United Methodist Church, Rosman Road, Thiells, NY on September 29, 2018 at 1 pm.
