Michael J. Madden Middletown, New York Michael J. Madden, age 62, passed away suddenly on August 15, 2012 at ORMC surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Darcilla Madden. He is also survived by his brothers Patrick Madden, John Madden, and Benjamin Madden, Jr.; and his sisters Mary Felter, Robin Velie, and Lee Weber. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with an extended family and many wonderful friends. Michael worked at Middletown Psychiatric Center for 35 years, retiring in 2010. He was a proud veteran serving in Vietnam where he was the recipient of many medals and awards. He was also a member of the Local Steamfitters Union. He will be remembered for his quiet strength and passion for his hobbies. He was a sports enthusiast and active participant, especially his love of running. He accomplished ten marathons. He enjoyed spending time working on his home where you could hear his favorite Blues Music playing in the background. He loved to pursue new fields of knowledge and to travel with his wife. His journey of 62 years was filled with many endeavors. The road was never short and the distance was never too long. His strength came from his heart. This gift was shared with us with his kind words, his compassion, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He enriched and touched many lives and for that, we thank him. "He lived, loved, laughed, and enjoyed life." We will miss him and cherish all of our memories of him. We will never stop loving him. Burial will be held at Orange County Veterans Cemetery 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York 10924 on Saturday at 12 noon with full Military Honors. A Life Celebration will follow the interment at the American Legion in Middletown, New York after the burial - family and friends are invited to come and CELEBRATE the Life of Michael J. Madden. Memorial contributions in Michael's name to the Orange County Veteran's Coalition for Flags for the Veteran's Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
