Emil J. Kittel, 70 and Melodye K. Kittel, 71 of Bethesda, Ohio died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 1, 2019, as the result of a Motor Vehicle Accident. They were united in marriage on September 6, 1969. Emil was born June 27, 1949, in Martins Ferry, Ohio the son of the late Emil, Sr and Marcella Kittel. Melodye was born June 10, 1948, in Bellaire, Ohio, daughter of late Chad and Betty Hemsley. Emil was in the United States Army who served his country with great pride, he was also a retired machinist from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Melodye was a selfless and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Emil and Melodye loved taking walks, yard work and reading books, anything that allowed them to do things together. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Curt Hemsley, sisters, Lynda Angus and Nancy Hemsley. Emil is survived by a brother, Bobby Kittel, and sisters, Susan Grey (Phillip) and Sally Moore (Ed). Melodye is survived by a brother, Mick Hemsley (Vickey) and sisters, Patty Miller and Cinde Schinkovec (Max). Emil and Melodye are survived by a son, Emil David Kittel (Sarah) of Leduc, Alberta Canada and daughter, Jennifer (Dale) Catlett of Chester, New York, and lifelong extended family member, Kevin Johnston (Michele) of Dubois, Pennsylvania. Also grandchildren, Kaylee Zink, Kasandra Catlett, DJ Catlett of Chester, New York, Ava Grace Kittel of Ledus, Alberta Canada, Kevin W. Johnston (Emily) of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Brooke Johnston of Bellaire, Ohio, Bethany and Kaelynn Johnston of Flushing, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Private visitation services were held at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950 on Friday, December 6, 2019. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio for Celebration of Life Services.
