Mary Reilly, a long time resident of Chester, New York peacefully left this world doing what she loved to do best, spending time listening to Irish music surrounded by her loving family on December 18, 2015. She was 91 years of age. Mary was born in Belmont, Milton, Tuam, County Galway, Ireland to Ellen and Michael Hannon on August 27, 1924 where she grew up with her 7 siblings until she took her incredible journey to the United States at the age of 18, alone. Mary worked hard waiting tables at Schrafft's in New York City until she met her husband Tom Reilly. Together, they raised their 4 children, James; Helen; Mary and Patty between the Bronx and Ireland. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt and friend, Mary was loved dearly by friends and family and left behind a legacy of love, strength and family values, which will live on in all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was a member of the Chester Golden Age Club and an active parishioner of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church. Mary is predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Reilly. Survivors include her children, Jimmy and Maureen Reilly of Mahopac, New York; Helen Reilly and Dave of Greenville, New York; Mary and Frank Prigge of Lake Ronkonkoma (Long Island), New York & Patty and Steven Feierman of Chester, New York. Mary is also survived by her 13 loving grandchildren as well as her 21 great-grandchildren and by the special people in her life, her niece Helen Callahan; Rosemary Tunney and Eileen Masterson. The family of Mary Reilly would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff at Middletown Park Manor for the love and care they have shown her in these last few months. Your kindness has meant so much to us at this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 during the hours of 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Columba R.C. Church located at 29 High Street, Chester, New York 10918. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, located at 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York 10532. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Mary's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
