Mary K. Bridges

Mary Kennedy Bridges entered eternal rest on January 9th, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Balla, Co Mayo, Ireland on January 13, 1930, to the late Nora Reilly Kennedy and Michael Kennedy. Mary is survived by her sister Edna Henry and her brother Jerry Kennedy both of Washingtonville, NY, her sister Noreen Kennedy of Valatie, N.Y., her sister Kate Lohan in Ireland, Her brother Patrick and his wife Maureen in England, her sister Christina in Australia. Her Godchildren, Barry Henry, Chuck Shattenkirk, Maureen Kennedy, Maureen Mooney, as well as many other nieces, and nephews here in the US, England, and Australia. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Bridges, and her Siblings, Michael, John, Frank, Ned, Thomas, Bridie, Tess, and Joan. Mary was a communicant of St Mary's R.C. Church in Washingtonville, NY where she enjoyed many friendships. She remained faithful to her church, and always looked forward to Father Maurer's home visits. Mary touched many lives with her love and kindness She had a heart of gold, was the "salt of the earth", a loving sister, aunt, and friend who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. Although Mary had no children of her own she helped raise many of her siblings, as well as their children. She was a woman of grace and dignity and hers was a life well lived Everyone enjoyed spending time with Mary. She had that quick Irish wit and an incredible sense of humor. She was proud of her Irish heritage and made many trips "home" to her native Mayo. Additionally, Mary was proud of her American Citizenship and loved everything American. She was an avid gardener. She was well cared for in her final days by her Care-givers Sue Ann, Billie Jo. her aids Bethany and Kara, her nurses Mickey and Deirdre, Sister Ann Daly, her neighbor Joan and many caring volunteers from Hospice. A special thank you to the Doctors, nurses, and Staff of Dr. Imbaratto's Office for all your help. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, during the hours of 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 11"30 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church located at 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY 10992. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery located at 2 Fr. Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, NY. If you so desire and in lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mary's name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, or to St. Christopher Inn, Greymoor Garrison N.Y.
