Mary (nee Golden) Comiskey, a retired nurse's aide for 25 years, and a 30 year resident of Monroe, died Monday, April 6th 2015 at her home, surrounded by her devoted family. She was 79 years old. The daughter of Patrick and Delia Golden, Mary was born on March 15th, 1936 and raised in County Sligo, Ireland. In 1953 Mary immigrated to the United States and immediately started working in the Saks Fifth Avenue retail offices; she worked there until 1962. Mary was a homemaker for several years, but later returned to the work force, first as a Sales Person and then as a Nurse's Aide at the Hillside Manor in Queens, and as a Home Aide to the Homebound in Orange County, New York. In 1984 Mary and her family moved to Monroe, NY. Mary is a long-time member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, most currently belonging to Saint Therese, Division 4 of Middletown. Mary was a an active parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Monroe where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and she also was a member of the Christian Services Committee. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, James (Seamus) Comiskey. Mary is also survived by her five children: Maureen Comiskey, Rory Comiskey and his wife Theresa, John Comiskey and his wife Maureen, Deirdre Boyce and her husband Kieran, Tara Cruz and her husband Hernan. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Sinead and Declan Comiskey, Tara and Joseph Boyce, John and Erin Comiskey, and Teagan and Hadley Cruz. She is also predeceased by her brother, Johnny Golden and her sister, Philomena Guilfoyle. Survivors include her brothers, Bill Golden of Monroe, NY and Gerry Golden of County Sligo, Ireland. Visitation will be held on Friday April 10, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, NY 10950 on Saturday, April 11th at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
