Mary Ann McKenna-Savaglio, a longtime resident of Chester, NY, and a 30-year Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Chester Building Department, died on August 29, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was 69 years of age.
The daughter of William and Carmen Tannhauser, she was born in New York on July 31, 1954.
Mary Ann was famous for her hugs, laughing, and making Rice Krispy treats for every occasion.
Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, Sam L. Savaglio.
Her children, Allison McKenna and Sean McKenna of Brooklyn, NY, and one grand Cat named Sonny survive her along with her fiance Charles Barone at home.
She is also survived by her brother, William Tannhauser of Valley Stream, NY.
The wake will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, September 8, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Columba R.C. Church, 27 High Street, Chester, New York 10918.
Burial will follow at St. Columba R.C. Church Cemetery, 3553 Route 94, Chester, NY.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brendan and Thomas Flynn and the Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center staff.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Mary Ann's name.
