Marsha Ann Seymour

Marsha Ann Seymour, a long time resident of Chester, New York died at Orange Regional Medical Center on December 21, 2015 with her family by her side. She was 69 years of age. The daughter of the late Robert and Mary Heller, Marsha was born in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania in the year 1946. Marsha was a faithful wife and mother. She was a compassionate member of her community, a generous member of her Church family and a supportive friend. She raised her children with the understanding of integrity and acceptance. When her children began a full day of school, so did Marsha. She pursued her own education without interrupting her family's lives; balancing her own aspirations with the responsibilities of managing her family. Unfortunately, Marsha's physical body had a path that was separate from her mindset. Notwithstanding physical limitations, she was able to be a role model, to carry out the acts of kindness and generosity that made her so special and so loved. Marsha was an active participant in the First Presbyterian Church of Chester, New York where she held many positions including the Women's Council; the Choir; the Bell Choir; the Community Food Pantry; Chair of the three annual dinners as well as Sunday School teacher. Marsha was pre-deceased by her husband, James G. Seymour who died in 2011. Survivors include her loving children, her daughter Dawn Seymour-Plant and her husband, Jerome of Beacon, New York and Punta Gorda, Florida as well as her son James Seymour and his wife, Ada of Chester, New York. She is also survived by her dear friend Jerry Sutherland of Chester, New York and her granddaughter, Katie Rae as well as her many other beloved family members and close friends. A Life Celebration will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 during the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral and Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church of Chester, located at 94-96 Main Street, Chester, New York 10918. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions in Marsha's name made payable to the First Presbyterian Church of Chester and sent in care of Thomas F.
