Lorraine Joan Hall passed from this life on April 17, 2023 at the age of 91, from congestive heart failure. She was born to Lillian Warkenthien and Gerald Traband in Bronx, NY on August 31, 1931.
At the end of the Second World War, Lorraine met James Hall, a tall sailor and they were married on December 23, 1950. The next ten years they saw the birth of their four children. After many years in Long Island they moved their family to a beautiful farmhouse in Chester, NY, where their children grew into adulthood.
In 1969 Lorraine began a successful career in Real Estate working first with Jack Welsh and then Al Dorfman in Monroe,NY.
When Lorraines husbands health declined as a result of Parkinsons Disease, she left the business world to take care of her husband of 44 years. Following the death of James in 1995, she remained in the family home for nearly 20 more years. Her house was the constant gathering place for family holidays and visits with friends, while the smell of delicious meals filled the kitchen.
Throughout life Lorraine remained a very spiritual person, who loved being surrounded by her four-legged family as much as by her human family.
Lorraine is survived by her four children: Gregory Hall and his wife Freida of South Carolina, Lisa Lowe and her husband James Lowe of Middletown, NY, Jeffery Hall and his wife Linda of Bloomingburg,NY and Erica Karl of New Hampton, NY, as well as her two granddaughters, Lindsay Tsitron of Washington and Kate Hall and her husband Clayton Howell of Palmer, Alaska and two great- grandchildren, Ragnar and Ulla Howell of Palmer, Alaska . Lorraine also leaves behind her sister-in-law Marge Gramlich of Tillson, NY, cousins, nieces and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. Interment will follow at Chester Cemetery, Chester, NY.
