Kevin Laiks

November 6, 1942 — September 14, 2022

Kevin C. Laiks
Warwick, NY
Kevin Laiks, born in the Bronx, NY November 6, 1942, passed away after a long illness on September 14, 2022, at age 79.
The Son of the late Katharine and Cyrus Laiks, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
After college and a stint in the reserves, Kevin began his career, quickly discovering his talent and passion for sales. He loved 'never meeting a stranger,' and his natural ability to make a connection with others brought him success and enjoyment over his decades-long career. His sharp wit, dry humor, and love for 'busting chops' made him memorable to anyone who crossed his path. However, it was his fierce intelligence that served him best. Kevin could fix everything, fabricate anything and find his way anywhere. His career had him traveling frequently, and in a time long before Google Maps, we all went to him for directions as he was known for being able to provide street names and landmarks without so much as glancing at a map.
He believed in serving his community which he did in Chester and later in Washingtonville. He began the DAP (Drug Abuse Prevention Council) for teens in Chester and served on the Jaycees. He also coached Boys Senior Baseball and Womens Softball.
Kevin was an involved and loving parent to his three children, who knew they could call him any time, day or night, and he would be there for them. He was always present to lend a supportive ear, shoulder, bear hug, or joke to brighten any bad day.
He is survived by his loving Widow, Mary Laiks of Warwick, NY. Mary and Kevin had over 50 years of marriage together, sharing much joy, laughter, and as can happen in life, tears. Mary provided enduring support during Kevins long illness and was a living example of the vows they both took long ago to have and to hold "in sickness and in health."
Kevin is also survived by his children who loved him dearly. His oldest daughter, Kimberly Wittekind of Milford, PA, along with her children Courtney, Breann, and Brennon Wittekind and former spouse Michael Wittekind; his middle daughter Stacie Lynch of Middletown, NY, and her husband Stephen Lynch and children Kaelan, Owen and his wife Bridget and Liam Lynch; his youngest son Kevin Laiks of San Francisco, CA along with his wife Leiann and children Graydon and Cora Laiks.
Surviving Kevin are also his two younger brothers Robert Laiks of San Francisco, CA and Bryan Laiks of Westwood, NJ.
