Kevin M. Hite, age 65, of Hyde Park, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Garnett Hospital, Middletown, New York. He was born in Albany, New York, on November 11, 1958, the son of Ashford "Sonny" and Janet Hite, both deceased. He was married to Shari Hite (deceased).

He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Hite Austin, Christine Knapp, and Joanne Reynaud, and children Cody Hite of Liverpool, TX; Carla McQuay Wilmington, NC; Christina Garrison Wilmington, NC; Brian Higgins, his nieces and nephews Amy Austin, Emily Austin, Kelly Parker, Erin Reynaud, Kristen Reynaud, Craig, Michael DeCiutiis and seven grandchildren, Michaela Hite, Bailey Hite, Liam Hite, Ariana Wiggins, Kara Garrison, Lyle Garrison, Cava McQuay.

Kevin entered the United States Air Force in 1977 and retired after 20 Years and nine months of honorable service at the rank of Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force, he served as a (605) Air Transportation Specialist. He served with the 435th Aerial Port Squadron (APS) Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany; 1st Mobile Aerial Port Squadron (MAPS) Dyess Air Force Base, Texas; 605th Mobility Airlift Support Squadron (MASS) Anderson Air Base, Guam; second tour of duty with the 1st Mobile Aerial Port Squadron (MAPS) Dyess Air Force Base, Texas and the 436th Aerial Port Squadron (APS) Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. He served in Operation Desert Storm, earning the Southwest Asia Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. During his service, he also earned and was awarded multiple decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leave Cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two Oak Leave Clusters, the Air Force Achievement Medal with two Oak Leave Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Silver Cluster. In addition to his many awards, he also was presented multiple awards, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two Oak Leave Clusters, Air Force Overseas Ribbon - Short Tour, Air Force Overseas Ribbon - Long Tour with one Oak Leave Cluster, Air Force Longevity Service Award with four Oak Leave Clusters, Air Force NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon.

After his retirement, Kevin moved back to his home state of New York. He was a happy, friendly man who loved life. He always tried to help others. He enjoyed golf, a game he began in the Air Force and loved throughout his life. His infectious giggle and smile always lit the room. He loved his children and his grandchildren.

Cremation care was provided by Brendan & Thomas Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory in Chester, N.Y.

The family entrusted Kevin's care to the Flynn Family and staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers.
