Kenneth William Silvestri

Kenneth William Silvestri, 63 of Adrian, entered into rest Tuesday night, November 6, 2012 after an extended illness. Mr. Silvestri was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 17, 1949 to the late Frank and Mary Lala Silvestri. Mr. Silvestri was Roman Catholic by faith. He has lived in Johnson County for the past 5 months, prior to coming to Johnson County, he and his wife lived in Cocoa Beach, FL since 1989. Mr. Silvestri was member of the Cocoa Beach Bass Masters Club and Bass Masters Federation. From 1968 to 1989, Mr. Silvestri served his country with the United States Air Force. He attended the Air Force NCO Leadership School in Homestead AFB, FL and the Air Force Security Police Technical School at Lackland AFB, TX. From 1989 to 2012 , Mr. Silvestri was stationed at Johnson World Services at Cape Canaveral AFS, Kennedy Space Center, FL in top level security as a Security Supervisor/Watch Commander for various stations with NASA. He was in charge of security staffing for special events, emergencies, launch operations, as well as prep for NASA Space Shuttle and DOD/commercial launch rosters for Go/No-Go conditions. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950 at 5:00 PM. Mr. Silvestri is survived by his wife, Rena Wolfe Silvestri of Adrian; one son, Kenneth Silvestri of New Jersey; one daughter, Dee Dee Whittemore of Banger ME; one brother, Frank Silvestri (Bernadette) of Campbell Hill, NY; one sister, Barbara Silvestri of Staten Island, NY; 5 grandchildren, BreeAnna Whittemore, Nichols Whittemore, Lydia Whittemore, Zane Silvestri and Gavin Silvestri.
