Julia Theresa Gliatta, 73 died at home on February 7, 2016. She was a 51 year resident of Monroe, New York. She was a retired Religion Instructor for St. Anastasia Church, where she was employed for 32 years. She was the daughter of the late, John and Anna Zitti, and was born in the Bronx, New York. Julia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, wife godmother and friend. She was considered the Matriarch of the Gliatta Family and provided support, guidance or just a shoulder to cry on for so many family members, as well as extended family members, neighbors and friends. She was a dedicated parishioner at St. Anastasia Church in Harriman, N.Y. for over 40 years. Her dedication extended to teaching CCD for over 30 years. She also helped create the original parenting group and assisted as a wardrobe coordinator for the Children's Christmas Play for many years. She passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She will be dearly missed. Julia is survived by her four children, Anthony Gliatta of Monroe, Jo-Anne Krause and her husband Larry, of Lake City, Flordia, Christine Gliatta of Monroe, N.Y., and Leonard Gliatta of Monroe, N.Y. She is also survived by her sister, Jennie Bolda of Goshen, N.Y., and her two grandchildren, Nicholas Krause of Monroe, N.Y., and Samantha Krause of Lake City, Fl. She also leaves behind three nieces and a nephew, seven great-nieces and nephews, and one Great-Great Niece. Julia was also the proud Godmother of ten godchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 durring the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 12 PM at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, located at 21 North Main Street, Harriman, New York 10926. Cremation will follow at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, New York. In lieu of Flowers, the family has requested that all donations in Julia's name, be provided to "The St. Anastasia Youth Foundation Program" at St. Anastasia's Church, 21 North Main Street, Harriman, New York. Funeral arrangements and the cremation service have been entrusted to Thomas F. Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York.
