Josephine "Chris" Klarmann, of Monroe, New York a retired homemaker and a 17- year area resident, died on March 28, 2017, at Elant of Goshen, NY. She was 93 years of age. Family and friends fondly referred to her, and knew her as " Chris." The daughter of the late Wasyl (Charles) and Eva Matala, she was born in Pennsylvania in 1923. Chris was one of seven children; she was pre-deceased by her sisters: Anne Zahorniak, Mary Suboleski, Catherine Pryor, Nellie Matala, and her brother John Matala. She was the widow of George Klarmann, who pre-deceased her in 2003. Her family was the focal point of her life, her love for her Husband, Children, and Grandchildren, were her single largest gift to each one of us. She will be missed but never forgotten. Chris was an avid Mets fan and would never miss a game; her granddaughter described her just "as an elegant lady in both manner and appearance." She is survived by her children, William Lucey and his wife Robin of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida and Mary Sanborn and her husband Bill of Monroe, New York. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Adam and Eric Lucey, Billy and Olivia Sanborn and Dana Marotta; her sister, Olga Axmacher and brother-in-law Benny Axmacher, along with numerous nieces and nephews who also survive her. Visitation shall be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017, during the hours of 3 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM, at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. Cremation will follow at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, New York. Funeral & Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
