Mr. John Fratto, Jr. Chester, NY Mr. John Fratto, Jr. of Chester, NY a retired Commissary Officer at Stewart Field, Newburgh, NY and a lifelong resident of the area, died on September 22, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center, in Wallkill, NY. He was 91 years of age. The son of the late John and Carmella (F.) Fratto, Sr., he was born in the year of 1926. John served his Country during World War II in the United States Army, in the Fourth Armored Tank Division. He later served his hometown, Chester, NY as a Village Trustee, and was also active in the Chester Historical Society and the Chester Kiwanis Club. John had a passion for flowers and gardening and had his own nursery business for many years. He loved to discuss politics, his army days and the history of his beloved Chester Community. John enjoyed playing golf, his coin collection and model trains. He loved to watch Westerns and the music of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. The family would like to personally thank Dr. Fruchter, Jill, and Jeanette for the many years of care. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Angelina "Lee" Fratto at home and their daughter Patricia Fratto of Chester, NY. He is also survived by brother Louis Fratto of Newburgh and his sister Sylvia LaPorte of Kentucky and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Carmella Conservo of Chester, NY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, during the hours of 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 3 Hudson Street, Chester, NY 10918. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM in St. Columba R.C. Church, located at 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the family plot located in St. Columba R.C. Church Parish Cemetery, Chester, NY. Memorial contributions in John's name to the Chester Historical Society, 47 Main Street, Chester, New York 10918, would be appreciated by the family.
