Janet King, 63 of Monroe, New York passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born in the Bronx on May 16, 1953. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School, and was married to Larry King. Janet was a loyal employee for 36 years working in academic records at Fordham University, in the Bronx. She exemplified what it was to be a strong Christian woman and lead by example with her huge, loving compassionate heart and unwavering faith, which embodied her whole life. She was an active member of the Highland Mills United Methodist Church, and spent many hours in service to her Church community. Janet's love of family was evident in many ways including devoting much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her mom of 90 years. She had a nurturing, giving spirit tending to the needs of others, including her precious moments spent with her children and grandchildren. Her kindness and generosity overflowed, along with her contagious sense of humor. She enjoyed inspired Christian music and movies with her husband and mother. Janet and Larry had a passion for cooking, creating a meal with simple ingredients from their garden. She enjoyed vacationing with family and spending many restful weekends on the boat by ocean with her twin sister Laura. Janet is survived by her husband Larry King, her mother Eleanor Sammartano, her daughter Jessica Fahey, son in law Joe, grandchildren Arianna and JoJo Fahey, daughter Jacquie Kennedy, son in law Dave, granddaughter Sophia Kennedy, her sister and brother in law Marianne and Don Controy, her sister and brother in law Laura and Arty Balkits, her sister and brother in law Lisa and Louie Perez, and her brother David. "Bibi Janet" (Aunt Janet) is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Nicholas Sammartano, her sister Linda Torelli, brother Nicholas (Butch) Sammartano, and sister Judy Byrne. Memorial services will be private.
