James (Jim) V. Corcoran, a 46 year resident of Chester, New York died at home on April 5, 2015. He was 79 years of age. Jim was born to the late James and Marion Corcoran in the Bronx in the year 1935. Jim was a graduate of Fordham University and Fordham Preparatory School. Jim was employed as an Accountant - Auditor for RCA Records & BMG Music in New York, New York for a period of 30 years. Jim was a founding member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Joseph Duelk, Jr. Division 1, he was also a Council Member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Lourdes Council #5890, a founding member of the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick's Day Parade and a former long time Fire Commissioner for the Chester Fire Department. Generous and quick-witted, Jim enjoyed viewing sporting events with his children and friends, vacationing with family, and sharing stories, laughs and libations with everyone he encountered. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathleen "Kay" Corcoran, at home. He is also survived by their children, Kathy and her husband, John Elter; Maureen and her husband, Paul Kramer; Kevin Corcoran; Brian and his wife Kristin Corcoran and James Corcoran and his grandchildren, Noah Kramer; Shea Kramer; Seamus Corcoran and Mairin Corcoran as well as by his beloved sister, Eileen Corcoran. Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Marion Corcoran. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 during the hours of 4 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Joseph Duelk, Jr. Division 1 shall gather in the parking lot of the funeral home at 6:00 PM on Sunday evening to conduct services at 6:15 PM A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, located at 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, New York 10924. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary, Middletown, New York in Jim's name, which would be greatly appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F. Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York.
