James Muldoon, "Grandpa", "Poppa" most loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed peacefully at home on Sunday, June 30th, 2013. Son of the late James and Annie (Monaghan) Muldoon, he was born in Paisley, Scotland in the summer of 1939. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years Joanne, children James Muldoon and wife Carla, Angela Birdsall and husband Joseph, and Michael Muldoon and wife Linda, brother Thomas Muldoon and wife Rosemary, sisters Margaret Faulds, Frances Moran and husband James, Anne Moran and husband Michael, 6 grandchildren Heather, Kyle, Sean, Jake, Matthew, Shari Lin, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews and all those friends who knew "Grandpa". Before immigrating to the United States from Scotland in 1960, Jim apprentice welded in the Scotland shipyards. He then welded for 19 years at Kieley and Mueller in Middletown, NY and he taught welding at BOCES in Goshen, NY. He worked for the maintenance departments at OCCC and Orange County Sherriff/DPW and retired from there in April 2005. He has been an area resident for the past 47 years. Jim loved coaching with the Goshen Youth League. He was a coach for his son's baseball teams and his daughter's soccer team. Jim enjoyed watching his grandchildren play his favorite sport of soccer. At Jim's request there was a simple cremation service. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday July 5th, 2013 at 1 PM at St. John's the Evangelist Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY 10924 for family and friends. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in James's name are requested to be made to the Goshen Soccer Club, P.O. Box 652, Goshen, NY, 10924 or to a charity of one's choice.
