Herbert Louis Linfante

Herbert Linfante, 86, most recently of Warwick, New York, died Tuesday morning, May 5th, 2015. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 4th, 1929, Herb was the son of the late Pasquale (Patsy) Linfante and Elizabeth Marie Linfante, and the younger brother of the late Claire Linfante. Herb graduated from High School in Cliffside Park, New Jersey and worked for many years as an insurance investigator, as well as an independent private investigator. He enjoyed family poker games, was an avid fan of the NY Mets and NY Giants, (he often took "spectating" to new volumes and heights) and always had a faithful canine companion at his side. He often took action for fairness and justice, using his mighty pen to fight city hall. He may not have always won, but his efforts did make a difference. He raised his family in Bergen County, and in later years relocated to the Jersey Shore. He recently moved to Warwick, New York to be closer to family. He was preceded in death by his estranged wife, Frances Linfante, as well as two of his sons: Mark Linfante and Keith Linfante . Surviving are his eldest son, Tom Linfante and daughters, Nancy Iaccarino and her husband John, and Suzanne Linfante. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Thomas, Patrick and Elizabeth Linfante, Sara & Scott Linfante, and Steven, Lisa, Michele and Angela Iaccarino as well as his dog, Penny. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:45 AM at the Church of The Sacred Heart located at 26 Still Road, Monroe, New York, 10950. Cremation will follow at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, New York. Funeral arrangements and the cremation service have been entrusted to Thomas F.
