Frank G. Cascio, a 20 year resident of Blooming Grove, New York died at his home on January 14, 2016. He was 71 years of age. The son of the late Sam and Sally Cascio, Frank was born the youngest of 3 children in Brooklyn, New York in the year 1944. Frank lived the first half of his life in the boroughs of New York City, eventually moving to Queens after he married his wife, Theresa in 1982. Frank was actively involved in 12-Step programs throughout the Orange County area. Those involved in these organizations lovingly called him "Frank the Hat". His leadership was often called upon by the members of the organizations, and its members among his closest friends. Frank was committed to keeping himself and his fellow members on the right path. A beloved Husband, Brother, Uncle, Godfather, Cousin and un-official family spokesman, Frank cherished keeping in touch with his extended family and maintaining contact with the generations. Frank was a unique character who was loved by all who called him a friend. Frank was an avid lover of horses and horseback riding from his childhood and throughout his whole life. Frank loved the country life and nature, even while he was living in Brooklyn and Queens, he always dreamed of spending his time in the great outdoors. Frank finally realized his dream by moving to Blooming Grove, New York with his wife in the year 1996 to become a real country boy (cowboy). Of course we all know how much Frank loved his cowboy hats, hence his nickname. In his younger days, one of his many great passions was for obtaining and restoring classic cars. Ever the delegator/ supervisor, Frank always "knew a guy" and used his "due diligence" to ensure the job was done the Frank way. He would always be there for anyone in need, and one of the biggest lessons he taught us was to never hesitate to reach out to others when you need someone you can count on. Frank was pre-deceased by his parents, Sam and Sally Cascio as well as by his sister, Marie Porcaro. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Terry Cascio, at home. He is also survived by his brother, Wally Cascio and his wife, Rebecca as well as by his Godaughter and niece, Deborrah Cavalcante; his nieces Rebecca Catalano and Donna Porcaro and his nephew, Michael Porcaro as well as his many cousins, great nieces and nephews and his many wonderful friends.
