Evelyn Getz

Evelyn Getz of Goshen, New York, formerly of Monvale, New Jersey, a former teacher who taught school in Middletown Springs and Bradford, Vermont, and Canajuharie and Kinderhook, New York died March 13, 2012. She was 94 years of age. Evelyn was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church and of the Hospital Auxiliary of the Pascack Valley Hospital. She was a graduate of the University of Vermont. Evelyn was pre-deceased by her husband Donald Getz. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Jackson and her husband Greg, of Durham, North Carolina, and her son Dave and his wife Janet, of Warwick, New York. Evelyn is also survived by her grandchildren, Neil, Doug, Brendan, Dan, Tomothy and her great grandchild, Bella. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Glen Arden Continuing Care Retirement Community Inc., 46 Harriman Drive, Goshen, New York 10924 on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to NYS Talking Book & Braille Library, Cultural Education Center, Albany, New York 12230, or the Goshen United Methodist Church, 115 Main Street, Goshen, New York 10924.
