Elenore Whitney Pirrotta

Elenore Whitney Pirrotta of Goshen, New York died peacefully on September 15, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill, New York. She was 93 years of age. The daughter of the late Frank and Caremla B. Giardini, she was born on June 25, 1925 in the Bronx, New York. She lived in Yorktown Heights, New York, before moving to the Glen Arden Assisted Living Center in Goshen where she resided for the last four years of her life. She worked as a secretary for the BOCES school system for many years. But her true calling and passion was art. She was a talented and accomplished watercolor and botanical artist and calligrapher who exhibited her work in many shows. She had a unique eye and wonderful imagination and captured the world through her vivid watercolor paintings. She loved the arts - painting, theatre, music, opera, ballet, and always enjoyed seeing live plays, shows, and jazz concerts with her son. The widow of the late Anthony Pirrotta, she is survived by her loved ones - Walter Whitney, her son Lance Whitney, and her daughter-in-law Cecelia Culhane Whitney. She is also survived by her nephew Vincent Giardini and her niece Lisa Borrie. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends as well. Blessed with a playful sense of humor, you never knew what she might say or do to liven things up. A celebration of her life will be held at on Saturday, September 29, 2018 during the hours of 12 noon to 2:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 2 PM at the Funeral Home. Following the memorial will be a repast starting at 2:30 at Christopher's Bistro at 69 Brookside Avenue, Chester NY.
