Edward Alfred Wells

Edward A. Wells, Sr., a 41 year resident of Chester, New York died at St. Anthony Community Hospital on January 19, 2015. He was 70 years of age. Edward was born to the late George and Adele Wells in Hackensack, New Jersey the year 1944. Edward worked as a Landscaping Contractor for a period of 45 years with his own company Green Valley Landscapers. Edward was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He fought a courageous battle with muscular distrophy and would not give in, he always had a positive outlook on life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Edward is survived by his caring and devoted wife, Camellia Wells, at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Gina Scherman and her husband Chad of Milford, Pensylvania; his son Edward Wells Jr. and his wife Amy of Newburgh, New York; his brother George Wells, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Coral Springs, Florida as well as by his 2 grandchildren Jessica and Chad Scherman, Jr., and his numerous nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his 3 sisters, Doris Quackenbush, Gladys Scarpulla and Barbara Sword. The family would like to send special thanks to the staff at the Schervier Pavillion for the excellent care Edward received. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 during the hours of 5 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Columba R.C. Church located at 29 High Street, Chester, New York 10918. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's name sent to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, Illinois 60606 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
