Doyle Leslie Thomas

Doyle Leslie Thomas October 21, 1933 - August 13, 2017 Doyle L. Thomas, 83 years of age and a long-term resident of Chester, New York, died peacefully at his home on August 13, 2017. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Rita Mary Monahan Thomas. He was born in Gainesville, Texas, the son of the late Richard Leslie and Theda Louise Thomas. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, uncle and friend, he touched the lives of many. Doyle was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air force from 1951 - 1955 as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of The American Legion Post #1167, Chester, New York. Survivors include his three sons, Richard and his wife Tricia of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, Michael and his wife Doris of Catskill, New York, and Mark of Chester, New York; grandchildren Joseph, Christopher, Sean, Katie, Ben, Cory, Morgan, Jordan, Isaac; and great-grandchild Aedan. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:30 PM at St. Columba R.C. Church, located at 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Burial with full military honors will follow at Orange County Veteran's Cemetery, located at 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York. Donations in Doyle's name may be made to the Orange County Veteran's Food Pantry. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
