Dorothy M. Keating, 76, of Goshen, NY passed on to the Lord on Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence. The daughter of the late Clifford and Marion LaVare, she was born August 12, 1937 in Hopkinton, NY. She was one of eleven children. On June 1, 1957 she married Howard C. Keating in Burke, NY and resided in Goshen, NY for the last 43 years. While raising her family, she was always involved with her children's activities from being a Den Mother for Cub Scouts to attending every hometown Basketball game rooting on her #1 player. Her grandchildren always looked forward to going to Grammy's house to do arts and craft projects with her. She was also a volunteer for the local American Cancer Society helping people in need. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Howard; two daughters and son, Kelly Keating of Middletown, NY, Kimberley Dzaluk and husband Joseph of Celebration, FA, and Dean Keating of Gardener, NY; three brothers, Clifford Jr. and Frank both of Schenectady, NY, and David of Westville, NY; five grandchildren, Stephan, Derek, and Dana DeGroat, and Claudia and Joseph Dzaluk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her son, Mark Keating; one sister, Bernice Bussey, and six brothers, Milton, Joseph, Erwin, Art, Nelson and Donald. As she wished, Dorothy has been cremated and a private family Celebration of Life Ceremony was held Nov. 3, 2013.
