David S. Bell, a lifelong Chester, New York resident, died peacefully on March 5, 2025. David was born to Seely and Dorothy Bell.
Dave was a lifelong resident of Chester and retired Highway Superintendent for the Town. Dave was the Past President of the Orange County Highway Association and the Vice President of the New York State Highway Superintendant's Association.
Above all, he was a proud family man and friend with an open-door policy to whomever needed it. He is predeceased by his loving wife Gayle, son Gary, and sister Shirley.

He is survived by his daughter Gwen (Marvin), his brothers Tom (Julie) and Rich (Cathy), his sister Mabel (Morgan), and grandchildren Nicole, Amy (Jay), Gary (Melissa), Jackie (Anthony), Brian, and Katie, his great-grandchildren Sara, Vincent, and Tori, and one on the way, along with his extended family, which loves him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 3 Hudson Street, Chester, NY 10918.
Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 11:00 to 11:30 am at the Funeral Home, with a Life Celebration at 11:30.
After the life celebration, the burial will be held at the Chester Community Cemetery (Hill Section).
The family entrusted David's care to Brendan, Thomas Flynn, and the Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center staff.
