On Tuesday April 6, 2021, Daniel E. Canfield of Monroe, N.Y. passed away suddenly at the age of 61. Daniel was born July 5, 1959, in Middletown, N.Y. to parents William (Bill) and Corinne Canfield. Daniel graduated from Goshen High School in 1977. Daniel spent one year attending Orange County Community College before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served from 1978 to 1982, doing one Mediterranean cruise aboard the USS Cannole. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy, Daniel dabbled in several occupations before deciding to get his Commercial Drivers License. Daniel drove professionally for over 25 years. He enjoyed his work, often stating "it's great… the steering wheel never talks back!" A lifelong Yankee Fan he watched every game at least twice. YES Network was a necessity of life! He managed the team from his recliner, or prior to COVID, in our favorite corner seats at O'Toole's Pub. Believe me, he would have been ejected from every game! Daniel was also known for his love of sarcasm, and had an extensive collection of t-shirts with some of his favorite phrases. You can almost hear him… *I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong. *If I've angered or insulted you, my work here is done. *And despite the look on my face you're still talking. *No need to repeat yourself. I ignored you just fine the first time. *And my personal favorite, describing Daniel's personality…People think I go out of my way to piss them off. Trust me, it's not out of my way at all! Daniel was predeceased by his parents Bill and Corinne Canfield, his brother Douglas, and his son Daniel E. Canfield Jr. Daniel leaves behind his best friend and partner in life and "crime", Wendy Smith, his daughter, Amanda Nisbet, and husband, Chris, granddaughter, Paisley Grace, his loving family, K.C Petillo-Decossard, and husband, Sakis, his "Dan the Man" grandkids, Dominic, Natalie, and G.G.. Sisters, Debra Arvanites and husband Tom, Donna Johnson, Dorothy Johnston, Denise Canfield, and partner Robert Signor. Brothers, David Canfield, and wife Cheryle, Daryl Canfield, and wife Juliet, Dwayne Canfield, Dean Canfield, and wife Millie. Along with nieces and nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles. Daniel will be interred at the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery, with Military Honors and a graveside service on Friday April 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM Daniel, hoping you and Danny are enjoying some wings, Coors Lights, and debating the Yankee season ahead.
