Christopher "Mike" Keegan a 45-year resident of Chester, New York and a retired New York City Police Sergeant died peacefully May 13, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Chris was 71 years of age. The son of the late John and Nora Keegan, he was born in the Bronx in 1942. Chris was a long time member and former board member of the Joseph Duelk, Jr., Division One Ancient Order of Hibernians; he was a founding member of the Orange County Shields, Chester Seniors Club and a devoted parishioner of St. Columba R.C. Church. Our Dad was a devoted family man, who loved his wife of 49 years and cherished his four daughters and his grandchildren. Chris is survived by his wife Mary at home and their children, Mary and her children of Victor, New York, Christine and her husband Bill Treanor of Rockland County, Catherine and her husband Jim Smith of Dutchess County, and Tara and her husband Christopher Butler also of Dutchess County. His grandchildren Christopher, Brendan, Liam, Sean, Caitlin, Fiona, Connor, Ryan, Elizabeth, Jack, Michael, James, Kristyn, Jimmy and Sean survive Chris. His siblings James and his wife Lorraine, Jack and his wife Shelia, Mary Hughes (Donal) , Joan and her husband Michael Tracey, along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive " Uncle Mike". Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 during the hours of 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. The Joseph Duelk, Jr., Division One Ancient Order of Hibernians will conduct a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home for their brother Hibernian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday 11:00 AM at St. Columba R.C. Church, 29 High Street, Chester, New York 10918. Fr. John Bonnici will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Columba R.C. Church Cemetery located on Route 94, Chester, New York. Memorial contributions in Chris's name to the American Heart Association P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
