Chris G. Yiapis

Chris Yiapis, a resident of of Chester, NY for 18 years, passed away on June 4, 2022, at Garnett Medical Center in Wallkill, N.Y.
Chris was 76 years of age, and was born in Piraeus, Greece in 1946.
He was the former owner of Legends Restaurant in Harriman, NY, and was a member of The Rotary Club.
Chris is survived by his wife Dee Yiapis and his daughters Christina Doughty and Evangeline Whelan.He is also survived by his six grandchildren,Christopher Whelan, Alexa Whelan, Arianna Doughty, Matthew Whelan, Austin Doughty and Ava Whelan. Chris is also survived by two sisters.
Chris will be remembered by his family as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church located at 2250 Goshen Turnpike, Middletown, NY 10941 on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
Burial will follow with Military Honors at Orange County Veterans Cemetery 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10950.
Funeral care has been entrusted to Thomas & Brendan Flynn and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers staff.
