Charles Roger Oetzel

Charles R. Oetzel of Chester, NY a life long resident of the area, died February 17, 2013 at Wingate of Ulster, in Lloyd, NY. He was 84 years of age. The son of the late August and Florence Stevens Oetzel he was born in Harriman, NY on April 5, 1928. Charles was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a longtime employee of the Short Line Bus Company where he was the Supervisor of Maintenance Department for 28 years and then a school bus driver for St. Patrick's in Harriman, NY and the Monroe Woodbury Central Schools District. He is survived by his wife Christine Oetzel at home, daughters Stacy Padilla-Mott of Chester, NY, Gretchen Zaccaro of Washingtonville, NY, Inez Finkle of Wurstboro, NY, Evelyn Miller of Goshen, NY, his sons Ed Oetzel of Bloomingburg, NY and Richard Oetzel of Milton, NY. Charles is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 Great granchildren. He was pre-deceased by his son Charles "Chuck" Oetzel, Jr and his brothers August "Junior" Oetzel and Edward Curtis. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., 3 Hudson Street, Chester, NY 10918. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 4:00 PM with Bishop George Langberg officitaing. Funeral and cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
