Catherine C. (Kate) Coyle

Catherine C. Coyle (Kate), a resident of Warwick and previously of Monroe, passed away at home on July 27, 2024, with her family by her side. Her love of life and fierce independence kept her going until the end. 

Catherine, the daughter of Michael and Agnes Smyth, was born in Co. Monaghan. She grew up in Ireland in a family of thirteen until she came to this country at the age of eighteen.

Catherine was known and loved for her vivacious spirit, love of life, Irish wit, and kindness. Her outgoing, friendly nature and long-time jobs at Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and waitressing at the Orange Top Inn in Tuxedo led her to many paths. Catherine loved music and danced.

Catherine is survived by her children Bernadette Moroney and her husband David of Warwick, Kevin Coyle and his wife Leann of Pleasant Valley, and Matthew Coyle and his wife Astrid of Middletown. She has six grandchildren: Tyler and Brian Hefferon, Keira, Brendan, Ronan, and Christian Coyle. She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Coyle Sr., her son, Thomas J. Coyle Jr., and her granddaughter, Brianna Hefferon.

A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Cremation care was provided by Brendan & Thomas Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, N.Y.

The interment of cremains will take place with her husband's cremains in the family cemetery plot.

Brendan and Thomas Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers have been entrusted with Catherine's care.
