Beatrice Irene Smith

Beatrice Irene (Rene) Smith of Wallkill, New York, passed away on March 30, 2021, at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was a long life resident of Walden, New York. Rene was born June 15, 1942 in Catskill, New York, to James Patrick Gavigan Sr. and Carolyn Marie VanLeuveen. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jimmie Ray Gresham, her infant son, Jimmie Ray Gresham Jr., her brothers, Willis Robert Gavigan, James Patrick Gavigan Jr., and her sister, Katherine Krzeminski. She leaves behind her sister Alice DeGroodt and her husband Edward DeGroodt of Walden, New York. Rene is survived by her children, Danette Rae Dabroski and companion, John McMillen, of Walden, New York, James Robert Gresham and wife Julie of Wallkill, New York, Dianne Renay Conero and companion, Ralph McKinstrie, of Walden, New York. She was a loving grandmother to Joshua Dabroski, Shana Dabroski, Justin Dabroski, Jimmie Gresham, Brandon Gresham, Steven Conero and wife Kayla. Beatrice later married Leroy Allen Smith and extended her family. She had four step children, Debbie Simpson, and husband Danny, of Kentucky, Holly North, of Malone, New York, Bryan Smith, and wife Jessica of Walden, New York and LeRoy Smith Jr., of Walden, New York. Rene was a grandmother of 18, a great grandmother of 32 and a great-great grandmother of 2. Beatrice (Rene) will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
