BARBARA E. BUONANNO Barbara E. Buonanno entered into eternal life on July 3, 2016. She was 89 years of age. Barbara (nee Frasch) was born in The Bronx, NY, on January 16, 1927. She received a parochial school education, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1944. Her beloved father was a union truck driver for the Blue Coal Company. For several years after graduating school, she was employed as a receptionist and telephone operator at the famed St. Moritz Hotel, located at Central Park South, Manhattan, NY. In 1946 she married Vincent R. Buonanno, who was truly the boy next door, as they both grew up on the same street in the West Farms section of The Bronx. They were happily married for 58 years. Her husband predeceased her in 2004. In the early 1950s Barbara began spending her summer vacations in Upper Greenwood Lake, together with her sister Kathryn and her family, sometime owners of the Upper Greenwood Lake Deli opposite the Beach Cliff Inn. She moved to West Milford permanently in 1965. While still raising a family, she worked at the West Milford Quality Cleaners for 18 years. Barbara is survived by her eldest son Christopher and wife Evelyn Buonanno of Allentown, PA; son John and wife Carol Buonanno of Hewitt, NJ; son Vincent A. Buonanno of West Milford, NJ; daughter Barbara Chambers of West Milford and Greenwich, CT; her favorite son-in-law Colin Chambers of Greenwich, CT; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Matthew Buonanno of West Milford; step-grandson Matthew Tibbets and wife Lauren of New City, NY; April Kaisted of Monroe, NY, niece Patricia Ramirez and nephews Kenneth Fagan wife Betty, Blake Fagan Sr. wife Connie, all of Ocala, FL; sister-in-law, Terry Frasch of Safety Harbor, FL, great niece Leslie and husband Richie, their children Kaitlyn, Richard and Matthew of Medford, NY, great nephew Blake Fagan Jr. and wife Susan of James Island SC, their children Blake the III wife Katrina, Anna and husband Josh; Kyle and wife Jessica; beloved Godson Glen Taylor and his wife Mickey of Sleepy Hollow, NY and many, many dear friends especially Grace Taylor of Kendall Park, NJ, Kay Bender of West Milford, NJ, Nora Quinn of Irvington, NY, Kay McClurg of Washington, UT, Jill Walsh of Seattle, WA and the wonderful, thoughtful neighbors in Birch Hill. The family will be receiving friends prior to the Mass of Christian Burial in the Annex of Queen of Peace R.C. Church under the stain glass of St. Ann from 10:00 AM to 10:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 16, 2016 at 10:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Hewitt, NJ. In lieu of flowers a donation is respectfully requested for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, one of the nation's foremost guide dog training schools, located at 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598, www.guidingeyes.org.
