Albert Yelin, a resident of Elant of Goshen and a 30 year resident of the area, died at Orange Regional Medical Center on December 31, 2015. He was 87 years of age. A retired Furrier who worked in the New York City garment industry for more than 40 years, Albert was born to Harry and Catherine Yelin in New York City at 1 Pound A? Ounces and was dubbed the "tiny miracle baby" by the news papers of the time in the year 1928. He was the longest-living premature baby in the United States. Al was a proud 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Lourdes Council 5890. Albert, or Uncle Al as everyone knew him, lived his younger life in the dance halls of New York, winning many trophies for the Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Fox Trap and the Pee Body. A great story teller and an avid Yankee fan, and his all time favorite player was Joe DiMaggio. Uncle Al was very kind to everyone he met. He was the kind of a man who never hesitated to buy food for stray dogs, or take underprivileged kids to Yankee games. He was deeply loved by all that knew him and his compassion for all those around him will be missed by all who had the fortune of having him in their lives. We will all especially miss hearing his wonderful stories, which we will continue to keep in our hearts. Al was pre-deceased by his sister, Judy Meagher. Al is survived by his best friend and brother-in-law, Jerry Meagher; his sisters, Renee Vicidomini and Bella Yelin as well as by his nieces and nephews, Nick Perez and his wife, Mary Mack Perez; Cathy Radoncic; Karen Witmyre; Jerry Meagher and his special nephews, Nicholas Perez and Zachary Perez as well as his many other great-nieces and great-nephews.
