Agnes Grogan

Agnes Grogan, a resident of Washingtonville for 20 years, died peacefully on February 9, 2025, at 81 years old. 

The daughter of the late Martin and Anna Kennedy, she was born on October 5, 1943, in the Bronx.

Agnes worked as a secretary for her husband's printing company. 

Aunt Aggie was a remarkable woman who always put family first. She impacted all of our lives and was always there to give advice or just to listen. Her Irish roots and Bronx upbringing defined who she was, and she will be missed terribly. Until we meet again, we will honor her and value the importance of family. 

Agnes is the widow of Charles Grogan.

Agnes is survived by his daughters, Dori Velsini of Idaho and Laura McCollum of Texas; their four grandchildren, Michael Velsini, Amy Johnson, Danny Stokes, and Katelyn Stokes; their great-grandson, Leroy Velsini; her brother, John Kennedy (Rita) of Chester, NY; as well as her 15 nieces and nephews. 

Agnes was predeceased by Anne Cody (John), Kathleen Wogan (Edward), Eileen Doncaster, Thomas Kennedy (Joan), and Michael Kennedy (Irene).

Visitation will occur on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm at Flynn Funeral Home, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY, 10950. 

A Funeral Mass will occur on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10 am at Saint Columba's R.C. Church, 31 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Burial will follow at 12:15 pm at Saint Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave Bronx, NY 10465.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.

The family has entrusted Agnes’s care to the Flynn Family and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center’s staff.
