POST from K OF C Council 2079 MONROE, N.Y. : We are very sad and sorry to report the passing of John J. Kelly early this morning. As Past Grand Knight of Monroe Council #2079, Past Faithful Navigator and founding member of the John Cardinal O'Connor Assembly, Former District Deputy in the Hudson Valley, and much more, John was a well-known and important member of the Knights of Columbus since 1996 . He was the long-time Financial Secretary for our Council, Faithful Comptroller for our Assembly, Ceremonial Degree Team Member and Leader, and documenter of the Knights. You could always count on John to be at an event, camera in hand. Most will remember him as well for his travel stories about his time on the seas being a cruiser, his tales of being in the Army, stories of his family and his Irish ancestry, his love of our Catholic Church, his pride at traveling with the Lourdes Pilgrimage for so many years and his loving to be the first to eat at our Council events. John so loved being a Knight that he said he regretted not joining the Knights of Columbus 20 years earlier. Please keep John in your prayers and his family and friends at this time of loss. May they be comforted in knowing that John is now in Heaven with our Lord. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Interment will be arranged at St. Anastasia R.C.
